It’s Time For Equal Marriage

The SSP is proud to be part of this wonderful video celebrating today’s launch of the Equality Network’s ‘It’s Time for Equal marriage’ campaign.

Colin said: “I support equal marriage for the simple reason that I think gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans people deserve equality, and for me equality is not divisible. You can’t have partial equality – partial equality is another name for inequality.

“Couples in loving relationships, regardless of whether they’re gay or straight, deserve the same treatment under the law. This is the norm, this is what’s expected in society, that’s why it’s important and I think that’s why it’s time has come.”

The Scottish Socialist Party have long-supported LGBT equality and were one of the first signatories to the Equality Network’s Equal Marriage Pledge in 2008.
