Sounds good, doesn’t it?
The break-up of the British state would not only put an end to a shameful period of our history when subjects of the British Empire feared , but also free us from the casino economics of the City of London speculators and bankers fattened on the profits of the oil that flows from the North Sea.
Of course, independence by itself won’t change Scotland. Indeed, if the SNP were allowed to dictate the terms we would be looking at a tartanised version of what we have already; a wee, free market country intent on cutting wages and stripping assets.
Our aspirations are much bigger than that.
We take inspiration from the magnificent movement of students scross the UK resisting the privatisation of education and the savage spending cuts imposed by the Westminster government.
We are inspired by the astonishing bravery of people across the Middle East who have brought down ruthless dictators, throwing off decades of savage repression with nothing but their mobile phones.
Our vision is of an independent, socialist Scotland.
An independent, socialist Scotland could tax the rich to end low pay and pensioner poverty by using the colossal short term wealth of North Sea oil to fund the health, housing and oil.
An independent, socialist Scotland could close down Trident nuclear missiles on the Clyde and create a nuclear free Scotland, axing any plans to build new nuclear power stations, investing instead in developing serious, sustainable alternative forms of energy.
We could halt our population decline and cultural impoverishment by opening our borders to all those seeking asylum, or simply a better life.
Racially and culturally diverse, environmentally responsible, socially just - this could be Scotland.
A Scotland that would serve as a beacon of light to all nations struggling with the demons of free market capitalism and Western imperialism.
